Kill Germs With Your Bare Hands!

As part of the campaign to prevent the spread of H1N1 swine flu and other diseases, Ritta & Associates has created a unique :60 second Public Service video for Englewood Hospital and Medical Center. The video, which stars costumed hand characters and cleverly animated germs, will be widely distributed to heighten awareness for both kids and adults on the need to wash hands frequently to keep germs from spreading.

Narrated by “Dr. Rich Lather,” a hand costumed as an Englewood Hospital physician with a frothy head of soap-bubble hair, the spot illustrates “hand people” in everyday settings that children and others may not realize are rife with invisible germs.

The settings and characters include:
• Coffee shop: “Barista” hand, and animated germs jumping around coins/money on counter
• Supermarket: “Woman Shopper” hand, and germs dancing on shopping cart handle
• Public Bathroom: "Kid" hand, with germs clambering around toilet and door handles
• Crowded Bus: “Commuter Man” hand sneezing among other riders, germs sliding on handrails

Samsung LED HDTV In-Store DisplayThe finale is a bare fist smashing a dancing germ character, with the message “Kill germs with your bare hands” by washing frequently.

The Public Service spot is being distributed via Cable TV, in area schools’ internal TV announcements, Bergen Performing Arts Center’s kids programs, the City of Englewood’s website, the hospital’s website, YouTube (where it already has a 5-star rating) and other PR venues. A variation will also run on TVs in Englewood Hospital patients’ rooms and public areas to help protect patients.
